Ant Dreamworks is based upon a 2003 NASA Space Shuttle experiment to study animal life in space and test how ants successfully tunnel in micro gravity. Ant Dreamworks allows you to study the behavior of ants in a unique, self-contained environment. Watch in amazement as ants live, work and tunnel in the nutritious and non-toxic gel as they create series upon series of intricate tunnels, build a colony, interact with each other, dig more tunnels, feed baby ants, sleep and take breaks.

Ant Dreamworks is illuminated by an extremely cool looking illuminator. Not only does the Illuminator beautifully highlight the intricate network of tunnels left by your ants, it also acts as a stunning nightlight that casts a soothing wash of neon blue across the room. The LED Illuminator fits snugly into your Ant Dreamworks base and when plugged in will shine four bright blue LEDs up through the turquoise gel. The bright blue LEDS highlight the tunnels and gel giving you your own unique, one of a kind masterpiece! Also perfect as a bedside, desk or shelf accent light!

Advice on how to get the most out of your Ant Dreamworks:
- First, open the cover of ANT ARTISTS and use the included plastic stick to make four holes (approximately 10mm deep) on the gel surface. This helps the ants know that they can dig in the gel.
- Entice some ants to climb onto the little stick (supplied) and then, using the stick, help the ants through the hole in the side of your ANT ARTISTS colony.
- As ants dislike staying in the sun for a long time, you should not leave ants in the sunlight for any extended period of time.
- Usually, your ants will begin to work in 24 – 48 hours so be a little patient.
- Every 10-15 days, ideally while the ants are resting, you should open the plug to allow fresh air to enter.
- Don’t place any food directly on the gel! Doing so will cause the gel to deteriorate and become moldy.
- Get a closer look at the ants and their movements with the provided magnifying glass.
