Newton's Cradle (also known as Newton's Balls as we like to remind everyone while chuckling to ourselve's around the office).
While not actually invented by Newton himself, Newton's Cradle was invented in 1967 by English actor Simon Prebble who named it in honor of the famous scientist and mathematician Isaac Newton because it employs Newton's laws in it's operation - the Laws of Conservation of Momentum and Energy.
More recently Newton's Balls (chuckle) have featured recently in the Open Universities TV add where the guy admires Newton'n Balls (hehe) in his bosses office.
And now, thanks to HeWants, you too can get your hands on Newton's Cradle (balls seemed so inappropriate in this sentence).
